OMAMORI (Japanese Amulet)

Omamori mono or Omamori is one of Japanese amulet. Almost all of Japanese people have it. Omamori is like something important which could give they all protection. Because omamori itself means ”protection” so Japanese people makes omamori as a protector. It’s characterizes them as having omamori, from kids to old people. We can see it spotted on bags or hung on front side in the cars.
          Japanese people believes that omamori could save themselves from any bad luck and could make their affair going well. They are using or just bring omamori everyday but only just as an embellisment on their bag or anything else. But in the different case they always have an omamori for the special or important things. Like when they are do the test for enter the company or for admission to the university. Or when someone going to move away from one region to another region, they must be get it. Either get from someone else or buy it by themselves.
          Formerly, omamori made from woods which writen any different wishes. They used to wrote they own wish on that wood and hang it up on the special side in front of the temple. But now, omamori made from the cloth for covering the amulet with prayer paper inside. There is a small size and the sizeable one. The small one is usually made for childrents and another one for old people or teens. So many colors we can choose, like pink, blue or red. Usually each omamori has a different function and what it is purpose to, like the one that i got it’s written “goukaku” it means “pass the test”.
          Omamori commonly sold at religious sites such as a temple, because it’s like holy thing. It’s related to their belief to their God, so omamori wouldn’t be able to sold at another place. Actually there’s people who sold it at the shop, but it’s just for an embellisment or just souvenir for tourism to buys. Japanese people always go to the temple to get it after praying. When the new year come, they will go to the temple together for praying. For Japanese people if new year come, it’s mean they will enter the brand new day. And on that day omamori will so many sold out.

          They are always believing that omamori could make their dreams come true. But beside that they do the best to reach it so hard.And now, in addition as a protector omamori could be as a furnish. Because the cloth for covering an amulet has a beautiful ornament and bright string colors. So, they can bring it everywhere they go as hung it on the ponsel or anything else. For Japanese people omamori is like intermediator thing from their God that could be such a relief to protecting themselves. Indeed, Japanese people could not be irrespectively from omamori. (CMIIW)
